Pour in fresh water and scrub with a brush. Rinse, then add more water for the birds to enjoy.
The iron stem will rust beautifully over time and blend in with nature. If you want to remove the rust, scrub with a metal scourer, rinse, and dry off.

Bubble wrap is used around the ceramic dish for extra protection.
