My outdoor garden ornaments and sculptures are made with stoneware clay that renders the work frost proof. I coil my larger work, a technique that can take weeks before the final shape shape is achieved and the hand modelled surface decoration is applied.
The brightly coloured, shiny glazes that I decorate the pieces with, is easy to clean, just use water and a soft bristled brush.
A 'funny' story;
When exhibiting for the first time, 20 or so years ago, a very prominent potter told me, after we had had a conversation about my work, that it was indeed impossible to achieve my glazed colours the way I do...a technique I developed after college. Hmmm....
